I still haven’t bought a new phone – still using my old Nokia 6230 and charging it every other day (since I can’t see the point in even buying a new battery for it). I am just so bored with the new phones that are out at the moment – the 6280 is too big and I don’t like the slide – the N70 and N91 just don’t appeal. I tried the Vodafone branded 6234 today and the buttons are far too small to be comfortable – what I want is a phone with the same easy to use buttons as the 6230, has a good camera and uses the Symbian Operating System with a Series 60 interface. It looks like I may have to wait for the E50 towards the end of the year – or maybe swap over to the sony erricson… but after my disaster with the Motorola, I’m still not convinced about changing brands. Do you have an opinion or suggestion on the newest range of phones available?

Same here, I still use my old 6510. I’m really devoted to Nokia, but they just invent any beautiful phones anymore. I thought of buying the 6280, but you’re right: it’s way too big.

Welcome back! I was afraid the only way I’d ever hear from you again was by watching the RSS feed on your del.icio.us page. (You post really cool pages BTW)
Can’t help you on the phone front. I spent the last 4 years trying to justify one PDAphone or another. Both Palm and PocketPC based cellphone just are not stable enough to be truely useful. I’m convinced that integration is a bigger problem than anyone is willing to admit. Anyway in a fit of rage at having to reset my phone because it hung when it popped the dialog to annouce an incoming call, I poked the stylus a little to hard into the reset button. When customer service told me that fixing it would probably run $250+, I went down to my local phone store and told them I wanted the cheapest cellphone they had that would work with a bluetooth headset. I ended up with a RAZR just a few months before they started to become all the rage around here. Not being accustomed to a phone UI I didn’t notice any glitches. In fact I found out how to customize the item layout and speed buttons to get to the features I use most. The features I like most about the RAZR are very subtle. It uses a standard USB connection so I didn’t need to buy any fancy recharge cables, I already had plenty. Second, it can play any mp3 as a ringtone. As more and more of my friends have got them it has been really fun making custom ringtones from favorite songs and movie lines.
